Marie Thomas is a well-known figurehead of the local community, as both a mother and a grandmother she has played an active role in education in Hammersmith and Fulham over many years. She is a governor of Fulham Primary and Normand Croft Schools. Marie has been involved with The Bridge AP Academy since the early nineties. She represented Health on the Management Committee from 2002 becoming Chair of the Management Committee in 2007. She now sits as a Community Director on the board of the TBAP multi-academy trust.
Marie has worked as a school health advisor since 1975 and has a detailed knowledge of many schools in Hammersmith and Fulham. She knows many of the learners’ and their families across generations. As an active governor and school health advisor, she has supported school improvement in a number of schools as they have delivered better outcomes for their learners and she continues to do.
Marie is a community activist with a passionate belief in local solutions and has represented her community in a number of ways over the years. She is a member of both the Housing Board and the Tenants Federation and is extremely active and involved with her local RC Church.
