Seamus Oates CBE is CEO of the TBAP Multi-Academy Trust.
The TBAP MAT runs nine AP and special academies, a Teaching School Alliance and school outreach services across four London boroughs and in Cambridgeshire. These include the Bridge and Courtyard AP Academies in Hammersmith and Fulham which have both been judged as ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by Ofsted, who recognised that, “the progress students make in their education, and in their social and emotional development, is quite staggering”.
Seamus is a National Leader of Education and sits on the North West London and South Central England Headteachers’ Board. He is a board member of the Youth Justice Board and participated in Dame Sally Coates’ Prison Education Review Group.
He worked as a teacher for over 30 years and has taught Science and ICT at London comprehensives, Pupil Referral Units and schools overseas. He believes passionately in the personalisation of learning and his success at re-engaging young people with high-quality learning opportunities at TBAP AP Academies has been widely recognised. His team is often consulted by other schools and organisations both locally, nationally and internationally.
