The Octagon AP Academy joined the TBAP Multi-Academy Trust
as a sponsored AP Academy in April 2014.

Octagon AP Academy is a primary and secondary alternative provision (AP) academy situated in Wood Green, London. Our academy supports up to 58 learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. We are driven by a fully inclusive philosophy and want to empower our learners to become the best they can be, so they can contribute successfully to the wider community.

At KS3 our learners follow a curriculum that consists of English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, PE and Vocational-based subjects and are taught differentiated lessons in small, well-supported groups. In addition, learners receive extra support for literacy and numeracy.

At KS4 learners access a range of GCSE subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Art and PE. We also offer a variety of vocational courses which include Sports Leadership, Food technology and the Arts Award.

The foundation of our vision is to ensure our learners’ education is personalised to meet their individual needs and is designed to give them the necessary skills to access the next phase of their life. Our academic curriculum is also complemented by an enrichment programme of off-site activities for all learners and on-site therapeutic services.

The Octagon AP Academy prides itself on the work that it carries out with parents/carers and outside agencies to ensure that the academy is a safe and enjoyable place of education where learners are fully engaged, enthused, motivated and encouraged to have high aspirations. We are particularly successful at the reintegration of learners into mainstream education. We also work hard to make sure learners move into further education or employment, post-16.
